A mom wants her son&#8217;s travel team name across the chest, a coach wants the club crest on a quarter-zip, alumni want a varsity letter in their old colours. Most of these requests are fine; a few would use someone else&#8217;s brand without permission. This Intellectual Property Policy explains what belongs to Hood Haven on hoodhaven.shop, how you may use it, what we need from you when you send names, logos or photos, which orders we turn down, and how a rights owner can raise a trademark or design concern. Copyright notices have their own step-by-step route on our <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> page.</p>\n<section class=\"policy-summary\">\n<h2>Intellectual property at a glance</h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The Hood Haven name, logo, original designs, product photos and site text belong to Hood Haven or its licensors.</li>\n<li>Sharing links to our pages is welcome; copying our designs or photos to sell elsewhere is not.</li>\n<li>By sending a name, logo or photo for an order, you confirm you have the right to use it.</li>\n<li>We decline orders using logos or marks of schools, teams or leagues that you are not authorised to use.</li>\n<li>Report concerns to <!--email_off--><a href=\"mailto:support@hoodhaven.shop\">support@hoodhaven.shop</a><!--/email_off-->; we reply within 24 hours on business days.</li>\n</ul>\n</section>\n<h2>What Hood Haven owns</h2>\n<p>Unless a page says otherwise, the following are owned by Hood Haven or used with permission from the people who created them:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>the Hood Haven name and logo, and the look of our site;</li>\n<li>original catalogue designs, such as our sports mom and dad graphics, family matching layouts and varsity-letter styles;</li>\n<li>product photos, mockups and illustrations;</li>\n<li>product descriptions, help pages, policies and other written content;</li>\n<li>the way our collections and pages are arranged.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>These are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Ownership of the product you buy passes to you when it is delivered, but buying a hoodie does not give you rights to reproduce the design printed or embroidered on it.</p>\n<h2>How you may use our content</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Permitted and not permitted uses of Hood Haven content</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Use</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Allowed?</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Notes</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Sharing a link to a product with your team group chat</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Links and previews generated by messaging apps are fine</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Posting a photo of yourself or your kids wearing your hoodie</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>It is your photo; tagging the store is optional</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Printing a page for your own reference, such as the size guide</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Personal, non-commercial use only</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Copying our product photos onto another shop or marketplace</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>This misleads shoppers and infringes our rights</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Recreating one of our catalogue designs to sell</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>Ask us in writing first</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Using &#8220;Hood Haven&#8221; or our logo to suggest a partnership</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>Only with our written permission</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Bulk-downloading the site with automated tools</td>\n<td>No</td>\n<td>Normal search engine indexing is fine</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>Names, logos and photos you send us</h2>\n<p>Most Hood Haven orders are personalised. You type names, numbers, team names and dates into the order notes box at checkout, and you send any logo or photo by replying to your order confirmation email or emailing support with your order number. When you do this, you confirm that:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>you created the material, own it, or have permission from its owner to put it on clothing;</li>\n<li>the people whose names or faces appear are happy for them to be used, or you are their parent or guardian;</li>\n<li>printing or embroidering it will not break anyone&#8217;s trademark, copyright or publicity rights.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>We do not check every file against every register in the world, so we rely on this confirmation. If a rights owner later raises a valid concern about a file you sent, we may cancel the order, and we will ask you to work with us to resolve it. Your files are used only for your order and are deleted 30 days after delivery, as our <a href=\"/privacy-policy/\">Privacy Policy</a> describes.</p>\n<h3>Typical situations</h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Your own team&#8217;s logo.</strong> A team parent emails the crest of a youth club with the order number. If the club made the crest and allows parents to use it on fan wear, go ahead and say so in your email. If you are not sure, ask the club first.</li>\n<li><strong>A family photo.</strong> A reunion hoodie with a photo of the grandparents is fine when it is your family photo. A picture taken by a professional photographer may need the photographer&#8217;s permission to reproduce.</li>\n<li><strong>A child&#8217;s drawing.</strong> Artwork your child created for a sports mom hoodie belongs to your family and can be used freely.</li>\n<li><strong>Player names and numbers.</strong> Names of your own players or children and their jersey numbers are not a problem. Using the name or likeness of a famous athlete to sell merchandise is a different matter, and we will decline it.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Quick check before you place a custom order</h2>\n<p>Not sure whether your idea is fine? This table sorts the requests we see most often. When in doubt, email us before you check out; it is quicker than cancelling later.</p>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Common personalisation requests and how we treat them</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Request</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">How we treat it</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What to do</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Player names and numbers for your own squad</td>\n<td>Fine</td>\n<td>List each name, number and size in the order notes</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Your rec or travel team&#8217;s own name in plain lettering</td>\n<td>Fine</td>\n<td>Type the exact spelling and capitalisation in the notes</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A crest designed by your club</td>\n<td>Fine with permission</td>\n<td>Email the file with your order number and confirm the club allows it</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A school mascot or crest</td>\n<td>Only if authorised</td>\n<td>Email us first with details of the permission</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A professional or college team logo</td>\n<td>Declined unless authorised by the owner</td>\n<td>Choose your own team name, colours or a varsity-style initial</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A cartoon character or brand logo</td>\n<td>Declined</td>\n<td>Use your own artwork or one of our catalogue designs</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>A family or pet photo you took</td>\n<td>Fine</td>\n<td>Reply to your confirmation email with the photo attached</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>Orders we decline</h2>\n<p>We decline orders that use logos or marks of schools, teams or leagues that the customer is not authorised to use. That covers professional leagues and their clubs, college and university athletic marks, and high school mascots and crests owned by a school or district. We also decline:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>characters, artwork or slogans taken from films, games, cartoons or brands;</li>\n<li>designs that copy another clothing company&#8217;s artwork or a recognisable product look;</li>\n<li>photos of public figures or celebrities;</li>\n<li>wording that falsely suggests official endorsement, such as calling a design the authorised merchandise of a body that has not approved it.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If we decline an order, we tell you by email and refund it in full. Often there is an easy fix: we can produce the same hoodie with your team name in plain lettering, a varsity-style initial, your own year or your players&#8217; names and numbers instead of a protected logo.</p>\n<h3>If you are authorised</h3>\n<p>Booster clubs, schools, leagues and teams sometimes do hold the rights to a logo or give written permission to a parent group. If that applies to you, email us before ordering, or reply to your confirmation, explaining who owns the mark and attaching or describing the permission. We may ask for more detail before going ahead, and we may still decline if we cannot confirm it.</p>\n<h2>Varsity letters, team names and colours</h2>\n<p>Varsity-letter style hoodies use single letters, numbers, years and generic lettering. A plain letter in your choice of colours is not a school&#8217;s logo. What we will not reproduce is a specific school&#8217;s protected crest, mascot artwork or stylised word mark unless you are authorised. The same goes for team names: &#8220;Westside Wolves&#8221; for your neighbourhood rec team is your team&#8217;s own name, while the name and logo of a professional club is not ours to sell.</p>\n<h2>People pictured or named on a hoodie</h2>\n<p>Beyond trademarks and copyright, people have a say over how their own name and face are used. For family and team orders this is usually simple: you are ordering for your own children or players, and their names are going on their own hoodies. Please take a little extra care in a few cases. If a photo on a reunion hoodie shows relatives who might not want to wear their picture in public, check with them first. If a team order includes another family&#8217;s child, make sure that family is happy with the name and number. If anyone named or pictured on an order asks us to stop, we will pause the order and contact you.</p>\n<h2>If a problem is spotted after you order</h2>\n<p>We do not send a proof or mockup before production, so the first time we look closely at your file is when we prepare it. If we notice a logo we cannot use, we email you rather than going ahead. You can then send replacement artwork, switch to plain lettering, or cancel. Remember that you can change or cancel any order yourself within 24 hours of placing it by emailing us, which is the easiest moment to swap a file. Once a correctly made order is delivered, it can still be returned within 60 days under our <a href=\"/returns-exchanges-policy/\">Returns &amp; Exchanges Policy</a>.</p>\n<h2>Other names that appear on our site</h2>\n<p>Our pages sometimes mention general things like sports, positions or seasons, and service providers that help run the store. Any name or mark that belongs to someone else stays theirs, and a mention on our site does not mean that company or organisation sponsors or approves Hood Haven.</p>\n<h2>How our catalogue designs are made</h2>\n<p>Our catalogue designs are created for Hood Haven or used under licence. They are printed or machine embroidered on each garment after you order. We do not knowingly offer designs that copy someone else&#8217;s work, and we do not describe any product as officially endorsed by a school, team or league. If you think one of our designs is too close to yours, please tell us.</p>\n<h2>Reporting a trademark or design concern</h2>\n<p>Email <!--email_off--><a href=\"mailto:support@hoodhaven.shop\">support@hoodhaven.shop</a><!--/email_off--> with the subject &#8220;IP concern&#8221; and include:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>your name, organisation, postal address and email, and whether you are the rights owner or act for them;</li>\n<li>the right concerned, for example a registered trademark with its registration number and country, or a description of a design;</li>\n<li>the full address of each page on hoodhaven.shop you are concerned about, or a description of a garment you saw;</li>\n<li>a short explanation of why you believe the use infringes your rights;</li>\n<li>a statement that the information you have given is accurate and that you are authorised to make the report.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>For copyright in artwork, photos or text, the <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> notice format is the better fit, as it includes the statements the law requires.</p>\n<h2>What we do with a report</h2>\n<p>We confirm receipt within 24 hours on business days. We then review the report against our catalogue and order records. While we look into it, we may take a product page offline and pause unproduced orders that use the material. If the report is valid, the product stays down, open orders are cancelled and refunded, and we confirm the outcome to you by email. If we need more information, we ask before deciding. If a report concerns a file a customer sent us, we let the customer know what was raised.</p>\n<h2>Ideas and suggestions</h2>\n<p>Customers often suggest new designs, colours or styles, such as a coach&#8217;s quarter-zip layout or a new family matching idea. We appreciate it. If you send an idea, we may use it without payment or credit, but we never publish your personal details, your photos or your children&#8217;s names without your permission.</p>\n<h2>Asking permission and contact</h2>\n<p>To ask about using our content, for example a school newsletter wanting a photo of a design, email <!--email_off--><a href=\"mailto:support@hoodhaven.shop\">support@hoodhaven.shop</a><!--/email_off-->.
